Moo on How Paul uses the word "Law"
When working through Galatians and a theology of "Law," I found Douglas J. Moo’s article “‘Law,’ ‘Works of the Law’ and Legalism in Paul,” (Westminster Theological Journal 45 (1983)) to be helpful. (Doug Moo is the author of commentaries on Romans (small, medium and large), James, Colossians and Philemon, a contributor to Five Views on Law and Gospel, and several other books and commentaries.)
Justin Taylor has posted the following schema from that article:
How should the Bible's nuanced use of "law" impact our own use of the term in theology and practice?
